The Baltimore County office of Maryland Legal Aid, located in Towson, Maryland, announces a full-time staff attorney position to qualified applicants.
Job Description: Handle all functions related to legal advocacy with a focus on consumer law, ranging from intake to the representation of clients before the District, Circuit, appellate and federal courts, and all relevant agencies. Duties will also include providing legal assistance in expungement cases and other legal practice areas handled by the Baltimore County Office as needed. Staff attorney is expected to participate in outreach activities and clinics (including, but not limited to the Lawyer in the Library Clinics). Participation and involvement in Baltimore County Bar Association activities, Legal Aid Task Forces, and other internal Maryland Legal Aid committees are required.

Qualifications: Admitted to practice in the State of Maryland or admitted in another jurisdiction and eligible for admission in the State of Maryland. Strong knowledge of Lexis/Nexis research. Excellent writing skills. Sensitivity towards the low income population. Spanish language proficiency desirable.
