Position Description: 

The law firm of Hunton & Williams seeks qualified individuals for a pro bono fellowship position in our Richmond office to be filled in the fall of 2018. Applicants should be motivated toward a career in public interest law and expect to be licensed by the Virginia State Bar at the time of employment. The position will involve representing clients for the firm’s Church Hill neighborhood pro bono office in Richmond and representation of clients at the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society (CVLAS) in Richmond, Virginia.

While the substantial portion of legal work will be performed for CVLAS, it is expected that this lawyer will be integrated into Hunton & Williams, with opportunities available for legal training, associate development, and social participation.

• Term of Employment: Two year program (October 2018 to October 2020)
• Location: Offices of Hunton & Williams, Richmond, Virginia and the CVLAS office
• Allocation of Time: Approximately 40% devoted to Church Hill clients and 60% devoted to CVLAS clients
• Reporting: Assigned to Hunton & Williams Litigation & Intellectual Property Team, reporting to a Litigation Team partner, with periodic evaluations submitted by the CVLAS Executive Director
• Compensation: Salary compares favorably with the entry level for legal aid staff attorneys; standard Hunton & Williams associate benefits
• Other: The Fellow may be asked to support projects in our Charlottesville pro bono office as needed

Students graduating in the spring or summer of 2018 as well as recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
