Reporting to the Deputy Director, the VOCA Grant Manager will manage all aspects of CRLA’s grant activity related to holistic legal services for victims of employment-related crimes under the Cal-OES Victim Legal Assistance (VOCA - KL) Program grant. The Victim Legal Assistance Attorney/Grant Manager will manage all grant activities, including development of community education materials, CRLA staff and external training, client screening, case handling and referrals, and grant reporting, invoicing, and audit requirements, in collaboration with CRLA administrative and field office staff.

Location of the position is TBD it may be placed in any of CRLA’s field offices statewide - but there is a strong preference for our Central Valley or Central Coast offices. This is a 20-month, fixed-term contract position.

◾In collaboration with other CRLA staff, manage grant activities including:
◾development of materials and delivery of community education to target client populations;
◾staff training on delivery of holistic legal services to victims of employment-related crimes, including wage theft, workplace sexual assault, and other forms of workplace violence;
◾training of community partners and victim service providers on working with target client populations (i.e. low-wage workers, LGBT and indigenous immigrant populations);
◾client screening, case handling, and referrals to law enforcement, community partners and victim service providers.
◾Provide holistic legal representation to victims of employment-related crimes, including wage theft, workplace sexual assault, and other forms of workplace violence, with a focus on employment law and immigration remedies. Collaborate with and refer to law enforcement, victim service providers, and community partners as needed.
◾Serve as resource for CRLA staff
◾Oversee the development and implementation of grant-related data capture and reporting procedures utilizing CRLA’s online case management system. Train CRLA staff in reporting and timekeeping procedures and provide assistance and quality control as needed.
◾Prepare all grant reports, facilitate all invoicing processes, and coordinate any performance reviews or grant audits required by the funder.


•Law degree, admitted to practice law in California.

•Minimum of 2-3 years of law practice, including substantive experience in immigration and/or employment law.

•Prior experience working with low-income, immigrant or other disadvantaged communities.

•At least 2-3 years professional experience in grants management and/or grants reporting strongly preferred. Administrative experience demonstrating the ability to produce results that depend on the cooperation of other people.

•Superior organizational skills.

•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

•Computer and data analysis skills with facility in using Internet, word processing and spread sheet software.

•Good interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse employee, community partner, and client population.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation based upon work experience and calculated according to the requirements of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between LSWRC and CRLA. Generous benefits package includes Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Long Term Disability and 401K retirement plan.
