Position Description: 

We are seeking an experienced attorney to provide a range of civil legal services to survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The position involves the following duties:

• representing survivors at all stages of family law cases, including: dissolution, custody, support, protective orders and property issues;
• representing low-income clients in a range of civil legal issues; including: housing, public benefits, health access and consumer protection;
• supervising and coordinating legal workshops and clinics;
• identifying systemic problems that affect our clients’ rights and addressing these challenges through affirmative advocacy and policy work
• conducting community outreach and training
• collaborating with the local and national domestic violence organizations to address policy and impact issues affecting domestic violence and sexual assault survivors

Requirements: 

• Strong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision;
• Cultural competency in working with low‐income clients from diverse backgrounds, including clients with physical and mental disabilities, LEP clients, and LGBT clients;
• Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills and is very detail-oriented;
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic team;
• Curious and self-directed with an ability to anticipate what needs to be done;
• Sense of humor; and
• Fluency in Spanish preferred.
