Position Description: 

We are seeking an attorney to lead and coordinate training for attorneys, office support staff, and long-term care ombudsman. The attorney will be expected to develop an internal training program for advocate and coordinate external trainings to develop staff skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities
• Develop a training protocol for attorneys and staff
• Coordinate a training plan for each attorney with input from Supervisors and Litigation Director
• Create and implement internal lawyering skills training program
• Develop internal training program for supervision
• Co-counsel and 2nd chair trials with Staff Attorneys
• Develop internal training program for Litigation and Hotline Attorneys, Office Administrators, and Ombudsman
• Maintain library materials and on-line resources
• Disseminate new legal developments to staff

Requirements: 

• Juris Doctor
• Five or more years of litigation experience
• Prior experience training and mentoring
• Admission to Michigan Bar (or ability to be admitted through reciprocity)
• Demonstrated commitment to public interest or pro bono work
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills
• Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
• Flexibility
