Position Description: 

Central West Justice Center, an affiliate of Community Legal Aid, seeks a full-time staff attorney to provide legal assistance to migrant and seasonal farmworkers in housing, employment, immigration, and other matters. The attorney will be based in Worcester or Springfield and will engage in outreach and education activities around the state and handle cases for workers. The attorney will also serve as a statewide resource for other legal aid programs and community partners on farmworker issues. The attorney will be responsible for some grant writing and reporting.


QUALIFICATIONS: Admission to Mass. Bar or entitled to practice under a Mass. practice rule required. Fluency in Spanish required. Access to reliable transportation and travel to remote areas of Massachusetts, sometimes after normal business hours, required. Prior experience working with farmworkers and familiarity with the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act preferred. Salary is based on a scale commensurate with experience.
