Full Time Attorney

Will provide emergency legal representation and counsel to survivors of domestic violence. Will conduct legal intakes, draft all necessary motions and responses to the court in a timely manner. Must collect/review all evidence of domestic violence in order to effectively prepare the client’s case before court. Must maintain all client files and records confidential. Must educate the client on legal proceedings, interpret any existing court documents, and advise the client on how to respond legally. Must be willing to educate the court on domestic violence and be prepared to respond to common legal tactics abusers use in the courtroom. Must be willing to build a productive working relationship with the client and participate a constructive role in empowering the clients to improve their lives. Must work in conjunction with the agency Legal Advocate.
