The Staff Attorney will be responsible for maintaining a federal and state litigation and administrative law caseload, conducting outreach to migrant labor camps throughout New York State, leading community legal education projects, collaborating with advocate and social service agencies, and carrying out the objectives of the program. The position is available immediately.
academic training and performance; admission to the bar of the State of New York or eligibility to practice in New York under the 18 month legal services practice rule; the nature and extent of prior legal experience; knowledge and understanding of the legal problems and needs of the poor; prior working experience with the farmworker community or in other programs which aid the working poor; fluency in written and oral Spanish; willingness to travel.
