BayLegal assists clients primarily in housing, family law/domestic violence, consumer and public benefits matters.
Position: We are seeking an Attorney for our Legal Advice Line which is located in downtown Oakland, California. This person will be part of a team which provides counsel and advice to eligible clients primarily in the areas of housing, family law/domestic violence, consumer and public benefits, and the transition from welfare to employment. Housing and/or public benefits experience preferred.
Requirements:
Licensed attorney or law school graduate;
Demonstrated commitment to public interest law and social justice advocacy;
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
Strong organizational and computer skills;
Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;
Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing and high pressure environment;
Ability to work with low-income clients;
Bilingual ability is required in Spanish.
