Organization: Bay Legal (www.baylegal.org.) is the largest legal services provider in the Bay Area, serving Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, San Francisco and Santa Clara counties. Its mission is to provide high quality legal assistance to clients, regardless of their location, language or disability. Although grounded in local communities, BayLegal's vision is to serve the entire region. BayLegal operates six regional offices and has approximately 100 staff members. BayLegal assists clients primarily in housing, family law/domestic violence, consumer and public benefits matters.

Position: We are seeking an Attorney for our Legal Advice Line which is located in downtown Oakland, California. This person will be part of a team which provides counsel and advice to eligible clients primarily in the areas of housing, family law/domestic violence, consumer and public benefits, and the transition from welfare to employment. Housing and/or public benefits experience preferred.

Requirements: 

Requirements:
 Licensed attorney or law school graduate;
 Demonstrated commitment to public interest law and social justice advocacy;
 Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
 Strong organizational and computer skills;
 Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;
 Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing and high pressure environment;
 Ability to work with low-income clients;
 Bilingual ability is required in Spanish.
