Client Track – Why Can’t We Wait? Showing Up & Standing Up During Times of Challenge & ChangeCommunities around the nation are facing horrendous challenges during this economic meltdown. Double-digit unemployment does not count the chronically unemployed. Budget cuts in states and localities place a disproportionate burden on individuals with low income. Few are speaking up for the people and children living in the barrios, projects, ghettos and alleys of our nation. Thousands of people are reentering homes within our communities after spending time in prisons and jails, without skills and resources necessary for survival. We are witnessing the creation of a new poor. What is our answer to the challenging times we face? Where do we stand on the issue of poverty? Does the “fierce urgency of now” require us to ask different questions, search for new answers and act differently? This year’s Client Track will address these questions and more. Join us in Denver for "Justice in Times of Challenge and Change." See the 2009 Annual Conference Program Book for complete information about our keynote speaker, all session offerings throughout the conference, and networking and social opportunities. | ||||
