Radical Collaboration for Racial Justice Conference Overview
Combining structural racism is critically important to addressing inequality and poverty in our communities. The living history of the legal services movement is grounded in the work of achieving racial equity. High performing and quality legal services programs require a combination of leadership, effective management, governance and meaningful client involvement. Join us for an innovative and dynamic conference that brings together litigation and advocacy directors, client board members, leaders in the low-income community and executive directors to learn how to leverage leadership skills and collaboration to achieve racial justice and equity. Participants will learn how to develop skills, behaviors and attitudes that will assist them in collaborating, partnering and co-laboring to achieve racial justice and equity. Racial Collaboration will provide you with the opportunity to learn the basics of effective collaboration and apply the lessons learned in a safe environment with a team from your program.
Who Should Attend?
Programs are encouraged to attend as a team composed of executive leaders, advocacy leaders, and client board leaders. Programs should consider also including a community partner. Team participation increases your team's ability to reinforce the lessons and to advance the skills and strategies learned when participants return to their community and programs.
Why Should You Attend?
- Enhance your program's ability to use the perspectives and expertise of its executive leaders, advocacy leaders and client leaders to impact and improve the lives of low-income people.
