While excelling in his corporate career, Kenneth C. Frazier, president of Global Human Health at Merck & Co., Inc., has also managed to carve out an extraordinary record as a strong advocate of pro bono assistance, commitment to diversity and the safety and health of people across the world.

Frazier has long been recognized throughout the equal justice community for his dedication to creating a more fair and just society, one where people are not limited by financial restraints or race. His work in the equal justice arena has included representing death row inmate Bo Cochran, who spent 15 years on death row before being acquitted in 1996 and with his membership and action on the Ethics Resource Center, the Council of the American Law Institute and as a member and immediate past chair of the NLADA Corporate Advisory Committee. As chair, Frazier was instrumental in building support among the corporate community for NLADA’s programmatic initiatives.

Frazier’s dedication to equal justice has also led to national recognition with honors by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) with its 2004 Excellence in Corporate Practice Award. This award recognizes achievements in legal advocacy and counseling, service to the legal profession, public service and civic and community contributions, and by the Pro Bono Institute with the Laurie D. Zelon Award for extraordinary achievement by an individual in pro bono and public service.

He has worked for Merck since 1992 and prior to that was with the law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath from 1978 to 1992. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1978.
