Disaster Assistance Resources

Working closely with our members, NLADA has collected a number of resources that may be of assistance to our members who are now working to both recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina and to serve the overwhelming number of clients who will need their help in the coming weeks and months.

We intend to grow the number of resources we can offer, however, thus far, we have collected the following information. Please send any disaster relief materials you think would be beneficial to legal services advocates and clients of their services, to communications@nlada.org

Katrina Legal Aid Resource Center

The Katrina Legal Aid Resource Center is a Web-based clearinghouse of legal aid, pro bono and public defender information for persons affected by the hurricanes and the lawyers and advocates helping them. Located at www.katrinalegalaid.org, the site is the result of a partnership among the American Bar Association (ABA), Legal Services Corporation (LSC), National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) and Pro Bono Net.
