NLADA Standards | American Bar Association | Compendium of Indigent Defense Standards
For more than three decades, NLADA has independently and collaborated with other national organizations to develop national standards for indigent defense systems and professionals. These national standards provide the best yardstick for measuring the extent to which clients receive the representation guaranteed to them by the Sixth Amendment.

For more information about the importance of standards please read, Standards for the Delivery of Public Defense Services. You can also click on this link to download a quick guide to national standards for indigent defense.
