NLADA has worked with the U.S. Department of Justice for decades on a variety of means of improving the quality of indigent defense at the state, local and national level. Among the products of that collaboration:

  • Indigent Defense Systems in Large Counties, a study of the methods by which criminal indigent defense is delivered in the Nation's 100 most populous counties.

  • Key Elements of Successful Adjudication Partnerships.

  • Criminal Courts Technical Assistance Project - description of services and materials available to indigent defense programs through this technical assistance consortium of which NLADA is a founding member.
