Federal Funding | State Private Funding | Funding/Grant Strategies | NLADA Byrne Reports

Each year during the 1990's, NLADA was asked by the Justice Department to survey state and local defenders nationwide to determine the extent to which they are receiving federal funding such as Byrne formula grants.

Defenders have obtained more than $80 million in federal assistance since 1990, according to special reports prepared by NLADA for the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Find out how defenders are faring in gaining access to federal block grants to the states for criminal justice purposes. Get ideas from defenders in other states. Check out the track record of your state.
