E-Guide to Public Service at America's Law Schools

Newsweek.com and Equal Justice Works present The E-Guide to Public Service at America's Law Schools, a new online resource for law school applicants, law students, attorneys, professors and others seeking a broad range of free information about public interest programs and curricula at law schools. The E-Guide picks up where existing commercial publications leave off by providing information not compiled elsewhere about the culture of public service at law schools.

Newsweek.com and Equal Justice Works proudly presents The E-Guide to Public Service at America's Law Schools.

Many Access to Justice Commissions already have law school professors or administrators serving as commissioners, or have built bridges through programming between the academy and the profession. For those Commissions that have not yet done so, or those that have and want to build on their success, The E-Guide will provide a way to learn about the full range of public service offerings - programs, policies and curriculum - at the law schools in your state. With this knowledge, you will be able to:

· Consider new and expanded partnerships between the Commission and a law school where there are natural synergies

· Examine whether there are programs or professors to reach out to for new ATJ initiatives

· Determine whether local law schools have sufficient resources to ensure that public service learning is integral to legal education in your state.

Your interest in local law schools can send an important message about the importance of public service programs and curriculum to a quality legal education for ALL students, and ultimately to the legal profession as a whole. The E-Guide offers a valuable tool for use by bench and bar leaders to expand access to justice for all.
