Civil legal aid organizations have diversified their funding dramatically since the 1990s. These organizations now receive funding from a wide range of sources in addition to those mentioned above, including bar dues check-offs and add-ons, attorney registration fees, cy pres awards and donations from law firms, corporations and individual donors.

The ABA Resource Center for Access to Justice Initiatives, Management Information Exchange and NLADA work collaboratively to provide assistance and technical support to individuals and organizations seeking to increase funding for civil legal aid.
