Civil legal aid providers have made great strides in recent years in expanding their funding base beyond funding from the national Legal Services Corporation (LSC). Since the 1990s, the legal aid community has dramatically diversified its funding sources. While LSC funding has remained relatively level during this period, non-LSC funding has increased many times over.
