The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University 2008 News Awards Honor 13 Broadcast Programs, including The Trials of Darryl Hunt. See the press release here. Coverage of the awards will be featured in the annual PBS documentary “Telling the Truth: The Best in Broadcast Journalism,” premiering January 28th, 2008.

Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) has requested a hearing on the “Justice Gap”. Originally scheduled for November 13, the hearing was postponed until December 6 and, again this week, until February 2008. Cardin, an ardent supporter of legal aid, is seeking advocates' input on the legal, policy and practical consequences of this growing civil justice gap for Americans.
